Are you translating the web novel or the light novel? I can see that you’re linking the web novel as a raw source, but you’re also using some images from the light novel. It would be cool if you translated the light novel as it’s usually more refined than the web novel because the author gets a second chance to change the story before he publish it as a light novel.
I do not plan to translate the Light Novel to avoid copyright issues if a publisher should decide to release it in America as happened to various other novels before.
If I were to decide going for the Light Novel I would have to obtain the permission of the author. Furthermore I would only do it if there was some benefit in me doing it.
I am well aware that Light Novels tend to have an improved feel and maybe some extra content here and there but so far its not enough reason to scale the aforementioned reason for not doing it.
As for the illustrations, the in-chapter ones are part of the repost of the other translators. I am not sure I will continue using illustrations myself especially as I have no source for those either.

There are 2 simple reasons speaking against me doing it actually:
– I would need the permission of the original translator to change their translation as I dislike arbitrarily changing someone else’s work without at least having their okay to do so.
– The English might be slightly bad in some chapters as some are drafts, but they are readable and get the story across.
Please, also remember that I would need allocate time to edit and eventually TLC the translated chapters, which would stop me from releasing new chapters of Hachinan for a while. That’s something I’d like to avoid in regards to aforementioned reasons.

PDF/epub, huh? Well I only translated 4 chapter of this series so far, so I think it is still a bit too early to consider it.
As for the LN version, I haven’t seen or read it at all, so I can’t really tell you how the web novel chapters are split into the LN volumes.
The current illustration in the ToC shows up to chapter 36 of the web novel at least though.

No need for your unnecessary criticism and spoiler bad for new readers

People write review for a reason, to say what they feel about that particular thing. New readers read review to know wheter it’s good or not before jumping in to read the series. It is by no mean ‘unnecessary’.
Do some critical thinking man. MC is rich and could give lots of money to his family, more than what they spend on raising him and his siblings. Good things always happens to him and he still feel worthless? Either he has crippling depression or other complex or he’s a total asshole.
Money could be used to explore, but wouldn’t it better to use it on those who needed it the most? In this case poor people that are less fortunate than him?
I call it what it is, this thing is like cigarettes. They are good for a while, but cancerous in the long run.

You are right about this, but the novel follows a German terminology in its naming. “Ena” isn’t any kind of German name, so I opted for “Ina” which sounds more like a German name. Well going by the English pronunciation “Ena” is equal to “Ina” and thus I will leave it like that.
As for Elise, her appearance should be soonish (no spoilers). 🙂

Well, as for the money conversion I checked the raw when I added it to the Glossary and it was “Cent” without any explanation whether US or European or such, so I guess you a re free to choose for now? ^^
As for the faith I just followed what the author wrote in the raw, I am not too knowledgeable on different faiths and their branches but I don’t see any reason to change it either. I try to avoid interpreting the meaning of things as much as possible, so if the author says it is like the orthodox catholic church, then so be it. 🙂

It’s one thing if a reader comes here posting a pdf/epub at this blog for the others and it’s a different thing for a blog to steal the work of others to make epubs/pdfs for their own releases.

hmm well as you wish , also since you want to hire a lawyer please do your homework before saying something like that . Did you ask the author if he gives you the right to translate the novel? No your just translating it and giving credit to the TL for his novel. Tell me whats different from what you do and my site? Am i selling your work like its mine? Or posting your works on my site for viewser to read? Im just posting epubs/pdf for people who want to read on the go and since your site doesn’t offer that option for you novel ive done one for that also if im not wrong THE ENGLISH VERSION THAT YOU TL HERE DOESN’T HAVE ANY COPYRIGHT so that basically means its free to share for whatever reason.
That may sound harsh from me since i do really respect you for TL it since i like novel and don’t know japan or chinese to TL them myself but calling me a thieft its not something i appreciate.

First read what I wrote and then comment on it. I never claimed to have any rights on the novel nor will I do so.
So yea, you are free to share it wherever and however you want, just like the other dozens of aggregator sites do.
But likewise I’m free to rebuke you for doing that as you didn’t even have the common decency to at least ask whether it’s okay, but just came here stating it as a fact and asking to be linked.
Ah and yea, I did ask the author, but, as in most cases, he didn’t answer which is, in my opinion, the smart approach because it might counter the interests and plans of the company releasing his Light Novels and would be legally binding, if I had the written permission from the author himself.
Well, if you think you are helping the translators with what you are doing, be assured, you don’t, but as you said yourself, none of us can hinder you.
WHY!? Why after going though all the trouble of going though the trouble of creating a gold system for the story and then use Yen and Cents?????? It destroys the feeling of it being a story! if it continues I will stop reading!!!

I just accessed the raws on syosetu, scrolled down to the last updated chapter and saw title “最終話”…(最終話: final story)”. Is it ended? eh? eh? eeeeh?
I haven’t checked myself and at work at the moment where Japanese fonts aren’t displayed. But even then you don’t have to worry. The material left is at least 3 years of translation. So even if it ended, you will have plenty to read (unless you red the raws of course, in which case there’s no point to come here though. 😉 )
I was curious how far the translation has gone from the raws, so I checked it by chance. Just checking if my eyes were fooling me. hahaha

I got tired of this story quickly and here are the reasons.
A good portion of the story is recap of the last chapter; if I forgot the last chapter, I can reread it! Why in LN’s do authors (bad ones) feel compelled to summarize their story in the next chapters? It kills the flow and frustrates readers both binging and following. The words put into summarizing could have been more story.
Additionally, the style the story is written will suck brain cells out of our head then dose them in acid. I’ve only gotten to chapter 56 at the time of this review; however, the amount of politics crammed into the story is already enough:
Look at that dragon; the political situation of the war means a cease fire will last for at least the next 200 years and while considering that the has been no war I think nobles will be less combat read for the next war and this creates political, political tension and oh come back next chapter to find out about that dragon… Right, about this A******** dude he’s like the head of the counties magicians and is trusted my the king to do stuff and political stuff too and speaking of political stuff the head treasures is like very trusted by the king and completely played me but even after I do the logic and figure it out (using half the chapter) I forget it and do nothing about the kings usage of me as a pawn and oh s*** I forgot about the dragon, so come back next chapter.

Yes I know I am misrepresenting and exaggerating the authors work as he uses multiple paragraphs but I think I got the point across.
Also, at the moment the story feels bland. Nothing really catches my excitement or my emotions. Actually, that’s a lie because I feel brilliant anticipation written by the author as I wait for something interesting to happen.
I am thinking about continuing the story in hopes that I haven’t waited my time: wish me luck.
PS, none of this is the translations fault: their team even edits to make the story legible. This comment is direct towards the quality of story and NOT of translations. Yes, its obvious, but there is always that one guy that comes along and is like “Criticism? you have no right to say anything because translators are ***(you know what goes here)*** and you should respect them.” When the comment is constructive, warranting disappointment in a cancellation, or not supportive that the story is good. I thank this site for its work, but I do not believe this story to be worthy of priority.

Recently I am reading this web novel and I am quite confused about the rank “Margrave”.
Does “Margrave” here mean “Earl” in English, or mean a Feudal Lord governing a fief at the frontier?

Margrave is a regular feudal title as far as I can tell. At least it also exists in German.
Usually it is a high-ranking nobility governing bigger fiefs which also includes smaller nobles like barons, earls and such. Maybe it’s imaginable if you compare them to a Marquis as those are often only political nobles with no real fief to govern over (not always of course).

Margrave is the 3rd rank while earl is 4th and feudal lord the Lord of that place abd fief population are the resident
