Wordpress blog for translating Japanese Light/Web novels
Okay,
finished editing it, but am dead tired, so don’t expect any witty flow of English language. It’s reasonably readable though, I hope.
This will be the last chapter of Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de for this week for sure and gotta see about the next week, once it comes around.
Ah, I saw there are like 15 LN volumes out, so if anyone got the illustrations, feel free to share them with me, so I can work them into the chapters as they come. Otherwise I will have to buy the books, which is no problem either, but that will require your support.
|>> Here ya go <<|
Well,
I guess I might release one more then, as I’m dead tired now anyway. Might do 41 tomorrow, depending on my status. If not, that’ll be the last one for the week as I got other stuff to prioritize next.
Ah, by the way, for all those busying themselves to send me mails about the older Nidoume chapter links not working: I know about it. Will fix it on weekend. Preferred to translate instead of doing mundane work, but maybe I was wrong there? :O
|>> Here, fetch <<|
With my previous release rate of this series publishing 3 chapters would have taken 6 weeks? I guess it’s “Banzai to irregularity!”
Well, all I now need is an editor to smooth out the flow of the text. My brain isn’t awake enough during week to actually cope with that and the author doesn’t make it easy with his roundabout way of stating things. xD
Well, here you go.
Cheers,
Shasu
Heyas folks,
here’s the next one. 38 is done too, but still needs me editing it, which I surely won’t do tonight.
One thing I thought I should mention after translating 39 today: This author uses a lot of sfx. Usually I incorporate those into the text, i.e.: “she laughs with a *giggle*” becomes “she giggles”, as it makes more sense to me, especially as it often also is “she giggles with a *giggle*, which might sound nice in Japanese but is totally whack in English. Still the author uses partially so many sfx, which are also difficult to incorporate easily, that I will from now on sometimes just use the Japanese romaji and put an explanation behind them.
Also, I know that some links are broken in the ToC and navigation of this series. I will fix them once I got time, but until then, just use the navigation bar at the top. All chapters are listed there.
Well, enough blah blah from me

Heyas folks,
thought it would be good to give a short run-down on which series I will be doing for the next while (years?) as there has been a bit movement in the last weeks.
Hachinan tte sore wa nai deshou! – Remains as Sunday release, will be mostly split in parts due to the chapter length.
Imperial wars and my stratagems – Will be dropped for now. I might pick it up at another time again as the chapters are short n’ easy though.
Kakei Senki wo Kakageyo! – Will be released bi-weekly on Saturday.
Maou no Utsuwa – Will be released bi-weekly on Saturday, alternating with Kakei Senki wo Kakageyo! This project is a collaboration with Ainushi and Cnine.
Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de – Irregular releases according to my free time. Length-wise it’s quite short, though the language of the author is sometimes quite cumbersome.
Summoned Slaughterer – Remains as is with a fixed release spot for Friday.
Now then, you see there’s a lot on my plate and yet I have only two active editors. And one of them, Kruncs, will retire coming May due to RL leaving me with only one editor! Everyone likes to read but no one likes to work for it, huh?
Thus, once again, I’m looking for editors. The requirements aren’t that nasty either. Ideally you are a native English speaker able to properly write etc., you are reliable, you own Skype, you are available regularly and you have an interest in helping out in a long-lasting endeavour.
Not much, is it? If you are interested, send your application to [email protected] with a brief introduction of yourself. I will toss you a trial chapter and then we shall see, right?
Well, don’t be shy and try your luck. Ah, by the way, please only apply if you are really interested in it and want to put in the effort. No point of doing it for the fun of it. Thanks~!
Greetings,
Shasu
Heyas folks,
today you’ve got to praise me. Shasu-jiji stood up at 8 am on a Saturday and sat down to translate your favourite series at around 9 am! As such, I’ve been diligent and finished the entire chapter until 4 pm! Thus I’ve got next Sunday off !!!! No Hachinan for you, but time for me to work ahead!!! kukuku
That also allowed Kruncs-san to edit the chapter in advance for a change instead of after release!
Next is an announcement:
Starting 10th April I’ve got 2 weeks of vacations. Well, I plan to stock up on this n’ that but I also considered whether there might be some interested in extra chapters. Of course the regular Sunday releases will continue as before, no matter what. But as we are now through the majority of interludes of the entire series, I thought we might as well switch to extra chapters during my vacations.
Now, how do I charge those? Well, I took the example of another Translator, who seems to mostly release extra chapters and made a simple calculation: I tossed the next 20 chapters into one file and made an average excluding the spaces. The result is 16,9k characters per chapter. There seem to be professional sites translating at a rate of 0,03$ per character. That would result in around 500$ per chapter. However, I don’t claim to be a professional neither do I try to run a business here. The rate per chapter will be 100 Euro.
Please be advised that I don’t demand it of you nor do I encourage you to donate for the extra chapters. I personally prefer to stockpile chapters for series’ I choose. But, considering that the author has picked up the release speed, I’m offering a way to boost the release speed of Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! in the free time I have. I will limit the amount of extra chapters to 5 for my vacation. Anything that goes beyond that will be handled during work time with a delay.
Anyways, |>> here’s the chapter <<|
Once upon a time,
a little Shasu was idling around while singing “la la la.” Having finished stocking up on all kind of stuff he was wondering what to do with the free time that suddenly popped up and then he remembered some series’ he tossed away almost a year ago now.
Well, in fact no one picked it up (ah yea, there was some odd guy, but well even google translate has its limits, at least for now) and yet readers all over the world are continuously bringing up the title whenever a translator considers a new series. Or is it always the same guy?
Oh well, whatever might be the case, I thought I might as well put up another series I do mostly for the readers and not so much for myself, see Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou!
Ah, before anyone asks stupid shit like “How often will you release chapters?” or “Can you release it at least once weekly?” I shall tell you: I will release the chapters once I have time. Nidoume no Jinsei wo Isekai de has the lowest priority on this blog as series. Once I fill up the queues for the other series’ I will translate that one or if I get whimsical, I might also translate a chapter or 2.
Of course, if any other translator wants to earnestly work on this, I won’t do stupid crap like a dual translation. But, well, we have seen how well it worked out so far…

By the way, the chapter marks the half-point of this series. And some trivia: The second series of Summoned Slaughterer is currently at 198 chapters. 😉
