Heyas folks,

here’s the first part of the new chapter and also the new LN volume 9. The chapter will be split into 4 parts with part 1 and 4 being long while parts 2 and 3 will be shorter. That’s owed to the paragraphing of the author. Parts 2 and 3 will depict the story from different point of views, so I think it makes sense to keep them separate as stand-alones. 🙂

I added the character introduction illustration to the Glossary as the frames cover around 3 chapters. So yes, it’s a spoiler. Check it out if you want to get spoilered. ^^

I also added the new cover to the Table of Contents, but that act’s nothing new after all. ;p

this is the last part of chapter 81. Starting with chapter 82 we will enter volume 9 of the LN. I added the missing illustration to the earlier part of this chapter, though the actual content displayed in the illustration is LN-only.

Hakai no Miko – Foreword: Myth of Creation

recently I have been reading some novels on Syousetsu and stumbled on this little novel. After reading a bit into the story, it drew me in. Seeing that the translation hasn’t been updated for over a year now, I decided to spark the interest in the novel once more.

The language is quite sophisticated and rich for a web novel. The author is still active and releases a chapter once every 2-3 weeks with 267 chapters in total at the moment.

I don’t know yet whether I will dedicate myself fully to it, but I kind of find it saddening that no one picked it up, so I will release it as time permits. As for what to expect, read the author’s notes at the start of the foreword.

Patreon Update: A little game

Heyas folks,

a while back, at the beginning of the year, I had the idea to change my Patreon page. Most of my fellow translator peers already used a system of offering chapter previews depending on the patron’s tier back then, and no matter how much of an old man I am, I thought I had to go with the times.

I quickly realized though that doing that would basically mean that once the stock is filled up, I would be back to regularly translating the chapters as I have been doing more or less for 3 years now.

So I came up with the idea of an event-driven world-building game using Patreon. The advantage is that on top of getting the tier rewards, the patrons would be able to unlock even more chapter previews by participating in game events. Effectively that would spur me on to translate as much as possible and not waste my time on lazying around while at the same time giving the whole Patreon business a bit of life.

Well that was the idea, but then Nidoume was licensed and I had various setbacks in RL like sickness, family matters etc. making it at some times even difficult to keep up the regular releases.

But that’s over and done with now (I hope), and I finally finished all the steps needed for the game to go live and even had already a little test run with the current patrons.

The Spearmaster and the Black Cat – Chapter 84: A beauty

some, who actually know my usual schedule, may wonder why I’m releasing the chapter today, but I decided to shift things around a bit.

Spearmaster will get the weekly Friday slot while Slaughterer will move to the Saturday slot sharing it with the monthly Kakei Senki wo Kakageyo! With this the release rate of Spearmaster takes its final form.
