Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 57: Competition

Heyas folks,

today you’ve got to praise me. Shasu-jiji stood up at 8 am on a Saturday and sat down to translate your favourite series at around 9 am! As such, I’ve been diligent and finished the entire chapter until 4 pm! Thus I’ve got next Sunday off !!!! No Hachinan for you, but time for me to work ahead!!! kukuku

That also allowed Kruncs-san to edit the chapter in advance for a change instead of after release!

Next is an announcement:

Starting 10th April I’ve got 2 weeks of vacations. Well, I plan to stock up on this n’ that but I also considered whether there might be some interested in extra chapters. Of course the regular Sunday releases will continue as before, no matter what. But as we are now through the majority of interludes of the entire series, I thought we might as well switch to extra chapters during my vacations.

Now, how do I charge those? Well, I took the example of another Translator, who seems to mostly release extra chapters and made a simple calculation: I tossed the next 20 chapters into one file and made an average excluding the spaces. The result is 16,9k characters per chapter. There seem to be professional sites translating at a rate of 0,03$ per character. That would result in around 500$ per chapter. However, I don’t claim to be a professional neither do I try to run a business here. The rate per chapter will be 100 Euro.

Please be advised that I don’t demand it of you nor do I encourage you to donate for the extra chapters. I personally prefer to stockpile chapters for series’ I choose. But, considering that the author has picked up the release speed, I’m offering a way to boost the release speed of Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! in the free time I have. I will limit the amount of extra chapters to 5 for my vacation. Anything that goes beyond that will be handled during work time with a delay.

Anyways, |>> here’s the chapter <<|

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 56: The woman named 『Storm』 – End

Evenin’ folks,

with this chapter 56 is done. Though Katharina is quite the annoying character. She even talks in this strange way of adding “wa” at the end of sentences, though I didn’t put that into the chapter as it has no real equivalent in the English language. Well, you might call her the stereotypical, haughty ojou-sama type. How very annoying.

Oh well, whatever. By the way, this chapter took me in total 16 hours to write down. *sighs* Chapter 57 luckily doesn’t seem to be as long but I still plan to split it into 3 parts for now and if I feel diligent I might get it done with 2 parts. We shall see.

~ Thanks to the Patrons of Hachinan for supporting this series! ~

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 56: The woman’s named 『Storm』 – Part 1

Heyas folks,

it seems we are nearing the completion of this volume 5 in the LN as the last unused illustration goes into this chapter. Well nothing too surprising though seeing as to how long the chapters themselves are. This one has over 1.200 lines in the raw and 24k characters (excluding spaces). Thus I originally intended to split it into 4~5 parts, but as I’ve been diligent today it will likely be 3~4 parts instead.

Well, I will keep the blah blah short, so

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 55: Beginning the development of the Baumeister Earldom

Heyas folks,

another week, another part of a chapter of Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! This chapter will be split in 2 parts. If I had more time today, I could have finished it in one go, but you know how RL works…

Oh well, one little change: Instead of calling it Earl Baumeister territory, it will be Baumeister Earldom, likewise I will call a Baron territory as Barony. Why? Because always typing “territory” annoys me, I guess.

Depending on my schedule next week, I might finish this chapter during the week, but at latest it will be on Sunday as usual.

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Chapter 54: (hidden) – Part 1

Heyas folks,

I’m not into spoiling content with stupidly chosen titles, so I will announce the title at the end of the chapter. This chapter will be in best case split into 2 parts and in worst case, 3. As I have some RL stuff coming up next weekend, I gotta see first how much time I will have to translate.

If you haven’t yet, please take a few seconds and vote here. The vote’s final results will be polled by me next week.

Ah, I will announce how I will handle the anti-theft topic next week too as I got a pretty much good idea of a compromise. If you are interested, feel free to follow this blog as non-release posts aren’t posted on NU or such, naturally. ^^

|>> Well enjoy! <<|

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Interlude 23: The Rückner Brothers – End

Heyas folks,

here’s the last part of this interlude. I also added the illustration from a previous chapter here because it is the right place. With this we finally finished this entire Kurt arc (I hope xD) *phew*

Please thank Asvan for enabling this interlude!!

I will release Omake 2 tomorrow and the next regular release of Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! will happen next Sunday, if all goes as planned.

IMPORTANT: For those using mobile devices to read this chapter, you will have to install either Chrome browser or WordPress Reader App. The Firefox Reader isn’t available anymore. As compensation I have changed the layout of this blog and will see to implement the options the Reader offers you. (Reasons see below, better read them)

|>> Enjoy the interlude !! <<|

Some may still remember, but 4 months back I tried to embed some anti-theft protection on this blog. As this didn’t work out well and was a solution that caused more problems than it solved, I stopped doing it.

This time I implemented a function (thanks to GM Rusaku), which is more reader friendly as it requires only little effort to not be affected by it and that’s only limited to those using mobiles or the Firefox reader to read the translated chapters.

I won’t try to justify this measure because it’s my blog, so I decide the roadmap for it. But what I want you the readers to understand is that even if I and other translators don’t have a legal license (in most cases at least) to translate these novels, that still doesn’t diminish the work put into the translation itself (I wouldn’t be surprised if I put more than 100 hrs into translation/editing and releases in my vacations the last 2,5 weeks, to give you an idea). These translations are offered to you for free (I don’t demand any payment and won’t ever do so, I don’t hide my chapters behind adfly walls and I also don’t use ads on this site).

I actively support sites like Novel Updates or Reddit, as they make my chapters available to many without actually taking the content for themselves.

However I don’t support those, who scrape the content from my and other translation sites, claim it to be their own work and make money with that.

If you want to call me a hypocrite for that, so be it, I don’t really care. I like translating and I like making it available for readers, but I hate people taking advantage of the work I put into things.

I’m sorry that you, the readers, are getting in-between an ongoing dispute between translators and aggregation sites, but complaining to me will be, in my eyes, barking up the wrong tree.

Regards,

Shasu
