“W-Wha-!? T-This is…!”

 

In Ootsu, the central city of Akitsushima Island which Wend was currently conquering, existed Ootsu Library. It was a place considered to have gathered all sorts of novels which the rulers of this region, the Miyoshi family, had collected.

And when I was reading a book to kill some time together with Ina-chan over there, I stumbled on a crazy piece of news.

“Is something the matter, Luise?”

Even this island should have…romantic novels, right? Strangely enough…Ina-chan was going nuts over those, but now she had interrupted her reading, asking me if something was wrong.

“Look at this, Ina-chan!”

When I had taken a look at the flora and fauna existing on this island, wondering whether monsters lived here as well, my attention was drawn to a very interesting plant.

“It says 『Although the Akitsushima Grass gave this island its name, you can only find it very rarely』.”

“Isn’t that what they call an illusional plant?”

Did they deliberately name the island after the grass because it’s so rare?

“It mentions that one is found every few years.”

But, that’s not the issue here. This extremely rare Akitsushima Weed is the ingredient of a certain medicine, this book says.

“The ingredient of a magic potion that works on all kinds of illnesses? Sounds very fishy… According to Wend and Elise, it sounds like such a magic potion does exist, but it’s apparently at the level of a legend.”

I guess a potion that cures all sorts of diseases isn’t that easy to find. If you could make something like that without any problems, there wouldn’t exist such a huge number of different magic potions in this world.

“But look, it’s a precious plant people only find once every few years. If it’s a magic potion made out of that, it might have an effect.”

“Maybe. But what are you going to do after getting your hands on something like this? Aren’t you the very picture of health yourself?”

“Actually, I’m aiming for another potion.”

I had read one more book. It was one of those books which are generally forbidden for children to read. It was a story about a female character growing her breasts with a magic potion to entice the protagonist in the story.

“It’s a fictional magic potion, right?”

Moreover, once I looked into a book listing magic potions that can be contorted on Akitsushima Island, I discovered that the Akitsushima Grass was actually an ingredient for that breast-growth medicine.

This is the discovery of the century!

“See? It really exists, doesn’t it?”

“True, it’s written there… It’s difficult to find the main ingredient, the Akitsushima Grass. And even if it’s found, it’s usually used as an ingredient for other magic potions.”

Even if one has a small breast, it has no influence on your health…but it has a huge impact on me! Elise, Katharina, Therese, Lisa…all of them have big chests. I’m even losing out to Katia and Wilma. And Philine and Agnes’s group…have already outgrown me too.

What should I do if even Lulu and Fujiko’s breasts become bigger than mine in the future!?

“You’ve been born with what you’ve got and Wend doesn’t mind much either…aren’t you overthinking this?”

And I’ve been together with Ina-chan ever since I started to grasp what was going around me as a little child. Ina-chan says that she’s got a normal chest, but even a normal chest is already too dazzling for me!

“In the first place, you always say that your chest is fine with being average, but is that really true?”

“What are you talking about all of a sudden…?”

“Don’t you secretly believe that having a bigger chest would be better?”

“No, I don’t. It becomes difficult to handle a spear if your chest is too big.”

“If your chest becomes bigger, you just have to deal with it in a way befitting your grown chest, don’t you? Ina-chan, please be honest with me.”

Please talk to me, your best friend, honestly without hiding your true feelings. If you do, I’m sure you’ll be able to see a bright future.

“Wend will surely be delighted as well. I mean, that guy really loves his breasts big.”

I do as well, though.

Reality is about the things you want being out of reach, but I’ve finally found a hint. If I research the details and assess it to be a viable reality, I must do my utmost.

“I think it might be nice for my chest to be slightly bigger…”

“Right.”

Ina-chan shared my train of thought. Seeing how our opinions are aligning, we immediately began to look up the details in books.

“This is going to be really challenging to obtain…”

Ina-chan has been researching the ecology of the Akitsushima Grass.

“『The seed of the Akitsushima Grass hasn’t been specified yet. Once every few years, it will grow up in less than an hour during dawn, after which its flower will bloom, only for it to last until sunset at which time the grass itself will have withered away』, it says.”

“What a fleeting medical plant.”

“It growing up in little to no time and even blossoming might be the very reason why it works against all kinds of illnesses.”

“And why it makes your chest grow, right?”

I started to feel like this might actually work. I can definitely expect good things from this.

“The problem would be to know where it grows, right? Is there some known habitat or something like that?”

“Umm, looks like no. The book says, 『It has been discovered a few times in places with few other plant growth on soil that lacks nutrients and contains sand and stones』.”

“Did this island have such a place?”

“Hmm…I think we should ask someone who knows the geography of this island to get an answer to this. We’re outsiders after all.”

“That makes sense.”

Asking a local is the best way for things like this. And with that decided, Ina-chan and I visited a certain person.

“The Akitsushima Grass? I found it several times. I often go to deserted places for hunting…”

Ina-chan and I approached Kanenaka who was taking a break after finishing his special training with Doushi.

“Really?”

“Since they sell well, I plucked them and sold them off to a merchant whenever I found one.”

He’s one of the former northern lords and since the north used to be a place with little water, I predicted it’d have spots suitable for the Akitsushima Grass.

“The Akitsushima Grass often grows in the north, just as expected, huh?”

“The northern regions have many patches of land that tend to run dry. In short, because the land lacks water, it has many places that are perfectly suited for the growth of the Akitsushima Grass. On the other, I haven’t heard many cases of it being discovered in the central and southern regions. According to what the peddlers told me, that is.”

Kanenaka honestly answered Ina-chan’s questions.

“There are uninhabited areas with lots of sand and stones in the south of the former Shichijo fief. I’ve always driven my prey into that area before hunting it down. Rarily I spotted an Akitsushima Grass during those hunts over there. As a matter of fact, I might be the person who found the most Akitsushima Grasses on this island.”

Kanenaka found his first Akitsushima Grass at the tender age of five when his late father took him out on a hunt for the first time. The next time he found one at the age of eight. Then at an age of 11. And the last time he spotted the plant was at an age of fifteen. Each time the Akitsushima Grasses sold for ridiculous amounts.

“It’s quite amazing for you to have found it four times.”

“Many people don’t find a single Akitsushima Grass, even when frequenting such locations daily. I guess I’ve just been lucky.”

“That sounds perfect. Lead the way.”

“Pardon?”

“Lead us there now.”

It sounds like the grass grows in the area where Kanenaka regularly hunts. In that case, having him guide us there will very likely lead to us finding one.

“Luise, the sun is already going down, so even if we leave now, won’t the Akitsushima Grass have already wilted at this point?”

Oh right, it’s almost evening now. I guess we have no other choice but to leave early in the morning tomorrow.

“Kanenaka-san, does the Akitsushima Grass have a specific season when it blooms?”

“No, it’s an old legend that only god knows when it might grow. Even when I found it, it happened during different seasons.”

Probably because the differences between the four seasons on this island are small, it doesn’t seem to predominately grow during a specific season.

“Take us there tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow will be off, so I’ll come along if you don’t mind me hunting while we’re there.”

“Thanks.”

“No, you two are Milord’s wives. Besides, the Akitsushima Grass serves as an ingredient for a magic potion that can cure many illnesses. Because people suffer from sickness, I’ll naturally cooperate, if you tell me that you’re going to look for such a medical plant.”

“We’ll be counting on you.”

I definitely can’t tell him that it’s for the sake of enlarging our chest…since we will be forced to ask someone to contort the potion for us if we find one, it’ll get exposed right away anyway…but I’ll worry about that when the time comes!

Just like this, we would head out to search for the Akitsushima Grass together with Kanenaka for the sake of obtaining a chest as ample as Elise’s.

“I got to hear something really nice there.”

The Akitsushima Grass is a precious medical plant which can be used as a cure-all and a breast grower. I’m still in my growth period, but if I obtain a chest as big as Elise-sama, Katharina-sama, Therese-sama, or Lisa-sama, Sensei might fall deeply in love with me.

It looks like Sensei still doesn’t want to break out of our teacher/student relationship, but I want to quickly want to pass through a forbidden relationship, taking this to us dating officially.

Agnes-chan seems to also have grown impatient ever since becoming fifteen, and Cindy-chan performed a weird dance the other day, claiming that it’s gymnastics to boost the chest growth.

The three of us must obtain big breasts after finding the Akitsushima Grass.

“Such a magic potion existed, huh? It looks like I still know too little about this world.”

“I’ll finally be freed from doing that breast gymnastics which has little to no effect.”

“The gymnastics you’ve been doing, Cindy, have been taught to you by Luise-sama, so an effect…”

I mean, Luise-sama has even less of a chest than we do…

If Cindy-chan stops with that baseless, shady gymnastics and training…well, it’s improving her posture and has some effect as a diet, so I don’t think she necessarily needs to stop it.

“I still have some room to grow!”

“Even if you say so, what about everyone else besides you, Agnes-chan?”

“I’m still fifteen years old!”

Going by my age, I still have some room for my chest to grow big, but as far as I’ve heard, Elise-sama’s chest was already big when she was our age. Luise-sama said she was truly shocked when she met Elise-sama for the first time.

In other words, at this point in time, our future is set in stone for the most part.

“That’s why we’re going to get a boost with the magic potion. But Betty, why don’t you go searching for it by yourself? If it goes well, you alone would be able to obtain a big chest.”

“Given that I don’t know the area around here, exploring by myself is silly. Besides, we’re in this together!”

Us three share the past of having been taught magic at the adventurer prep school by Sensei. We worked hard together and decided that it’d be best for us to become his wives.

“Betty…”

“Thanks, Betty. It’d be nice if my flower knowledge came in handy.”

Agnes-chan and Cindy-chan agreed with my suggestion and thus it was decided that the three of us would be searching for that mysterious Akitsushima Grass. Since it’s called an illusionary medical plant, it’d be great if we actually manage to find it.

“…Luise, haven’t you been too hyped about this?”

“Were we found out?”

“So it seems.”

“Okay, we got some rivals then, huh?”

Early in the morning of the next day, while the sun still hadn’t risen, Ina-chan and I headed towards the place where Kanenaka found the Akitsushima Grass with him leading the way.

We were going there, but…someone was following us. There are three of them. And since they’re up in the sky at a distance where we won’t be able to see them, it must be Agnes, Betty, and Cindy.

Those three also have modest breasts, albeit theirs aren’t as small as mine.

Just as Ina-chan said, I guess I’ve been slightly too loud when talking about our plans.

“Are we going to team up? The chance to find the grass will increase with more people.”

“That’s a valid point, but…hey, how many potions can you contort with one Akitsushima Grass?”

“It depends on what sort of potion you make. What sort of potion do you intend to contort, Luise-sama?”

“”……””

Ina-chan and I immediately fell silent in response to Kanenaka’s question.

“It’s somewhat difficult to talk about it…”

“Oh…so you’re basically saying you’ve been searching for the Akitsushima Grass in absolute secrecy in order to surprise the people suffering from incurable diseases!?”

“In a way…”

Kanenaka misunderstood things on his own accord, but…talking about the truth is unexpectedly difficult.

“Right…if it’s not an overly special medicine, you should be able to make two or three potions out of one grass,” Kanenaka told us.

In that case, assuming we only find one Akitsushima Grass…as far as I’ve heard, only one grass was found in most cases, so…it’d be foolish to team up with Agnes’s group. In the worst case, it might develop into a violent dispute over the completed potions.

I’m not such a nice person that I’d yield the potion to my juniors either. Hence, we have no choice but to find the grass before Agnes and the other two. Above all, I’m the one with the most lacking chest. Seeing how this state hasn’t changed since my childhood, I won’t be able to yield the Akitsushima Grass readily.

“We don’t know why Agnes’s group is looking for the Akitsushima Grass, but if we ended up fighting, it’d put Wend off. Besides, they seem to look for the Akitsushima Grass while making sure to not be found by us. I think we’ve got an advantage here since we can search for it out in the open.”

“It’s nothing you can find that easily… Why are Agnes-sama and the others looking for the grass in secret in the first place?”

“Maybe they’re going to use it to research some new potion. Some people get embarrassed about being found to fail, so I’m sure they’re looking for the ingredients in secret.”

“I see, so that’s how it is. I didn’t know since I don’t contort magic potions.”

Even if I said so myself, it’s still a fairly lame explanation…but Kanenaka might believe in it because it’s him.

“But, it’s not said that we’ll definitely find it. Because the cases of it being discovered are low, putting not too much hope into this…”

Kanenaka seems worried about the Akitsushima Grass being difficult to find, but I’ve got a secret plan.

When I told him so, he asked, “A secret plan?”

“I’m a Magic Combat Style practitioner. I’m quite sensitive to mana responses.”

According to the description in the book, the Akitsushima Grass counts as a slightly special plant. Its mana amount and response is different from other plants, but that doesn’t mean it has less mana than regular vegetation.

I’ve sharpened my senses to the utmost limit…and since this place is full of sand and stones, the responses of other living beings is limited.

The very faint mana responses belong to grasses and small trees. There’s a bigger response…several hundred meters ahead, but since it’s moving it should be a deer or boar.

“I will spot small responses and we’ll go to check on them.”

This technique is available to us now because I’ve trained so much in the past.

“That’s amazing. Even Doushi-sama cannot do that, right?”

“Yes. Luise is good enough to have shown some of the basics of weaponless martial arts to Doushi after all.”

“Really? She doesn’t look like it at all, though…”

That blasted Kanenaka! How rude! How could he look at an adult such as me like that! He’ll definitely get a punishment after this!

“Maybe this one?”

Since I finally found a mana response that seemed like it could be the Akitsushima Grass, we quickly headed over to the place. But, unfortunately it wasn’t the grass in question.

“A bear?”

“That’s unusual…it’s rare for carnivores to come to this place…I will take it down.”

The bear discovered by me was punched to death with one strike by Kanenaka. This was a clear outcome of Doushi’s ongoing training.

“Just like Doushi, eh?”

“No kidding, right Ina-chan?”

Of course I’m capable of the same, but the pioneer in punching bears to death is definitely Doushi. And just now, Kanenaka has been added as an achiever of this feat as well.

“I caught a bear for the first time in a while.”

We didn’t have any time to dismantle it, so Kanenaka stored the bear away in his own magic bag.

“It’d be great if the next one proves to be the Akitsushima Grass.”

“Next time for sure…”

We kept moving from one place with fitting mana responses to another, but…

“A deer, huh…?”

“It just didn’t move by chance.”

A deer was peacefully grazing…

“And now a boar…”

A boar was digging up tree roots and eating them. Kanenaka looked happy because he could increase his hunting trophies, but we couldn’t find the Akitsushima Grass at all.

“No good, huh? As expected, it’s going to be hard to finish this in one day.”

“That’s true. I only spotted four of them after coming here many times over.”

“Uuhh…did Agnes’s group find something?”

Wouldn’t it suck really badly, if Agnes’s team beat us to the punch after we struggled so much? Also, I don’t believe in the miracle of them finding two grasses and sharing one with us.

“Kanenaka, you have it nice since you caught so many prey.”

“Hahaha! Luise-sama, your Detection is incredible.”

It’s because my detections uses the Magic Combat Style on top of my magic. Thanks to that, it’s no inferior to Burkhart-san’s Detection.

“Agnes’s group only has the Detection based on the traditional spell, right? It’ll be hard for them to find it, don’t you think?”

Ina-chan got a point. Agnes and her friends learned magic from Wend, but I haven’t heard about their detection magic exceeding that of Wend’s. If it was Burkhart-san, he might have been able to sense the faint presence of the Akitsushima Grass though.

Should we ask him to help in the worst case?

The problem would be how to ask for his assistance without telling him that we’re looking for the ingredient of a breast enlargement potion. We’d become a laughing stock, if he found out the truth.

I told Ina-chan about my considerations, but she said, “I’m against that.”

“Why, Ina-chan?”

“He’d definitely question us all about it and then laugh at us. It’d be difficult to hide it too.”

It’s Burkhart-san we’re talking about, after all. It’d be challenging to keep the way we used the Akitsushima Grass hidden, I suppose…

“No choice then. Then we just need to find it ourselves, so I’ll sharpen my senses even more and spot it.”

“That’s very welcome as long as I get more prey.”

“We’ve already had enough boars and deer. Didn’t you catch plenty of those?”

“No matter how many I hunt, it’s never enough. Right now I’m not a lord, but since I’m sometimes worried about the residents who live a poor life in a small farm village or lost their parents early, I distribute my catches to them. Although I must say the lives of our people are slowly improving thanks to Milord.”

“”Eehhh!? That doesn’t fit your image at all!””

Ina-chan’s and my voice overlapped. For Kanenaka to have been doing stuff like that is unexpected. But, although his abilities to rule are questionable at best, he was evaluated highly by his people, as far as I remember.

“That’s not such a big issue, is it…?”

Moreover, he’s surprisingly delicate.

Being told that it didn’t fit him, Kanenaka felt depressed for a while. Because he looked pitiful, both of us soothed him, but that resulted in us wasting some time unnecessarily.

“How’s it going, Agnes-chan?”

“No responses. How about you, Cindy-chan?”

“Nothing that could be the grass. Just like you two.”

“We have learned Detection from Sensei, but maybe our training is still lacking.”

Did Luise-sama and Ina-sama already find the valuable medical plant growing on this island? Given that they haven’t gone back yet, I’d like to believe that they didn’t find it yet.

It’s said that the grass isn’t that easy to find, so it will become even more difficult for us, if we don’t find it first.

“We have separated from the two for our search, but they have already sensed us, haven’t they?”

“Agnes-chan, it’s hard to stay hidden from Luise-sama.”

“You got a point there.”

But, that’s not the issue. As long as we find the Akitsushima Grass first, it will be all fine. And then we’ll use it to enlarge our breasts. That will allow us to become like Elise-sama, resulting in Sensei falling head over heels in love with us.

We must find it at all costs.

“But, it’s challenging, isn’t it? So far, we have discovered weeds, small trees, one boar, and three rabbits.”

When it comes to small mana responses, there’s a lot of plants, and for slightly bigger mana responses, boar, rabbits and such easily trigger our Detection. We got some meat out of this, but today’s objective is to find the Akitsushima Grass.

“Cindy-chan, is something the matter?”

Cindy-chan was pressing her eyes closed while revealing a troubled expression. I think she’s trying to increase the range of her Detection.

“…There’s a slightly weird response.”

“Weird response?”

“It’s somewhat big. I can’t really describe it well, but since the response isn’t moving, unless the others, I wonder if it’s a plant.”

“Where is it?”

“In the western direction.”

“Oh, true!”

Once I probed the area pointed out by Cindy-chan with my Detection, I quickly spotted the unusual mana response. Agnes-chan seemed to detect the mana just like I did.

“It might be an Akitsushima Grass.”

“Let’s hurry over!”

“Right.”

Suspecting that tis might be the grass we’ve been looking for, the three of us headed to the place with the mana response.

“…Of all people, I…I’m a failure to draw even with Agnes’s group with this sort of Detection.”

Up until now, our Akitsushima Grass search was nothing but duds, but once I finally detected something that could be the grass and hurried over to the site, I arrived at almost the same time as Agnes’s group, leading to us facing off with the target between us.

For me to suffer such an embarrassing defeat to Wend’s pupils is a real disgrace.

“Kanenaka-san, is this the Akitsushima Grass you mentioned?” Ina-chan asked.

“Yes.”

Moreover, Kanenaka, the only person among us knowing what the Akitsushima Grass looks like, confirmed that the unusual, violet flower growing all alone on sandy soil was indeed the grass we were searching for.

It definitely isn’t a big mana response, but since it has a peculiar quality which is difficult to explain, I can understand that this serves as an ingredient for special magic potions, if processed.

“Just one…Kanenaka-san, how many magic potions can you create with this one?”

“…You asked me the same question earlier, and I already told you that the amount depends on the type of potion you make…Hii! Around two or three!”

Kanenaka, you’re still unmarried because you don’t have enough consideration towards women. If you had promptly provided the answer without any unnecessary comments, Agnes, Betty, and Cindy wouldn’t have any need to glare at you either.

Still, two or three, huh…?

“It looks like only one side can benefit from this…”

“Indeed, Ina-chan.”

Ina-chan and I, or Agnes’s group. Only one of us two can receive the blessing of a breast enlargement. This could mean that a battle has become inevitable.

“I think, Luise-sama and Ina-sama, you’re already Sensei’s wives and you even have cute children, don’t you?”

“That’s right. This is something we need as we’re going to marry Sensei in the future.”

“Yep. I have an especially small chest, so I need it all the more!”

Hoh, those three sure have some guts to say all that. But, unlike you who are still in your growth phase, I can’t expect my chest to naturally grow even bigger. Shouldn’t you yield this to me as your Senpai in life?

“We want this medical plant as well! We won’t give it to you!”

“We arrived here several seconds before you!”

“I think I was faster in using my Detection!”

I see. I guess obtaining precious treasures always comes with obstacles corresponding to the value. If the three won’t yield it to us…

“Umm…I will be scolded by Milord later on, so please stop fighting.”

Don’t say such pathetic things…Kanenaka..

He doesn’t even look anymore like the guy who initiated combat against Wend in the beginning. He’s got trained by Doushi, but since he won’t be able to win against any of us, he’s probably trying to end it peacefully.

“Now that it’s come to this, it can’t be helped…we’re going to have a match!”

Because fighting would be bad, we’ll settle this with a method Agnes’s group can agree with.

Let’s see…

“We will compete through arm wrestling!”

I rolled up my sleeve, showing my arm. Well, it’s slender. But, I’m confident in my strength.

“(Luise, you…)”

Ina-chan, it’ll be fine as long as the other side agrees to it.

If it’s those three who know that I’m a Magic Combat Style practitioner, they ought to realize that arm wrestling──albeit with the help of mana──is my forte. If they don’t notice it, it’s their own fault.

“Alright. As the one having the most mana among us, I will be your opponent!”

They fell for it. Agnes accepted my challenge.

I’m slightly inferior in mana to her, but I know the secret arts of the Magic Combat Style. This contest should be clearly advantageous for me.

“Agnes, do your best!”

“I occasionally do arm wrestling as special training with Sensei, but Agnes-chan is the strongest among us.”

Eh? Wend, you’re even doing something like that with them?

“Is there any relation between magic and arm wrestling?”

“About that, Ina-sama, the training for 『Physical Strengthening』 is not only about something obscure as enhancing our entire body with magic, but we also practice strengthening just one arm or both legs.”

“It’s training for controlling and managing your mana. On those occasions, we will always do arm wrestling while only strengthening our dominant arm, but Agnes-chan wins every single time.”

Cindy and Betty explained to Ina-chan, but has Wend really been teaching them something like that? Still, when it comes to arm wrestling, I’m definitely stronger. It won’t be any problem whatsoever.

“Okay, then let’s have a match with no hard feelings.”

“Yep, the contest will be decided with one bout.”

Before I noticed, Kanenaka became the referee for this, but I didn’t mind that. Agnes and I lied down on the spot, and linked our arms for arm wrestling.

Both of us are delicate women, but the instant we’ll pour mana into our arms, it will undoubtedly turn into a power fight exceeding that of adult men by leaps and bounds.

“(Agnes still isn’t using her mana…)”

I guess she plans to charge her arm with loads of mana at the same time as the start is signaled so as to not waste her mana pointlessly. She might actually be more formidable than expected. Her mana control has improved beyond what I anticipated.

She’s probably working hard at her training because she likes Wend. And Wend likely has passionately taught them everything he knows because they’re his first pupils, and such pretty girls to boot.

It kinda pisses me off a bit. But, I cannot afford to lose here.

All for the sake of a voluptuous chest!

“(Luise, what kind of strategy are you going to use?)”

“(My opponent has more mana than me, so I will win with speed)”

“(Speed? You can win like that?)”

Ina-sama seemed worried, but this will lead to victory. After all, Agnes wants to pour all her mana into her arm alongside the starting signal.

However, she’s still too inexperienced to do that perfectly. The mana path in her arm hasn’t been widened enough yet. Given that it hasn’t been long since Agnes started to study under Wend, she can’t be compared to me, who endured the special training with Doushi.

“(Furthermore, I excel in speed)”

It’s just by a mere tenth of a second, but I can send a huge amount of mana faster into my arm than Agnes can. Even if I fall back in total mana capacity, I overwhelm Agnes in the speed and amount of mana I can send into my arm at once. If it all goes according to plan, my victory is set.

“(Is that plan really going to work out like that?)”

“(I’ve properly thought it over, so don’t worry, Ina-chan)”

This match will be decided in an instant. It probably won’t even take a second and that sort of match is actually more beneficial for me.

There’s something called “Forsaking” among the deepest secret arts of the Magic Combat Style.

When facing a formidable opponent, you have to abandon the idea of winning without taking any damage…for example, even if you abandon the defense of one arm, you still have your feet and other arm to deliver a fatal blow against your opponent.

Even if you give up on the short-term goal of blocking damage with one arm, you’ll still damage your enemy seriously, making it impossible for them to continue fighting. In short, you’re aiming for a victory in the long term.

Previously, Haruka had called it “Cutting through bone while allowing for your flesh to be torn apart.” It’s the same principle.

So far, I’ve never heard anything about Agnes or her friends getting injured, so I’m pretty sure Wend had been teaching them how to circulate their mana to their arms by doing arm wrestling in preparation for the time when they might lose.

Agnes and I looked at each other, nodding calmly and thus signaling that both of us were ready.

I was set as the winner of our arm wrestling match.

It seems like my prediction was correct.

Agnes’s arm, which I caused to sink into the huge rock, didn’t suffer any particular injuries either. Normally she should have broken a bone or two from that, but Wend had properly taught her how to send mana into her arm to protect it.

“So you asked quite an amazing person, huh? As expected of you, Ina-chan.”

“Above all, he’s tight-lipped. It was slightly expensive, but since we provided the ingredients, the price was within reasonable limits.”

“I see.”

 

Several days later, Ina-chan brought the magic potion for breast enlargement after getting it contorted for us. A suspicious, violet magic potion was floating around inside the bottle. According to Ina-chan, only few druggists are capable of making this, so she secretly researched who would be able to do it, and put in an order.

“Are we going to drink it at once?”

“Yep. Nothing will start, if we don’t drink it, and it’s our right which we obtained after winning over Agnes’s group.”

Those three are also staying silent about us having been in a frenzy due to obtaining the magic breast enlargement potion. It was an unspoken agreement…or maybe I should call it observing a moral code.

“Ah, right. He said this magic potion is enough for two people.”

Since the shop owner was luckily present, we called out to him. He led Ina-chan and me to a room deeper inside the store. It was a complaint about a defective product, so maybe he was worried about others hearing about it?

“Umm…about the magic potion to enlarge breasts…it wasn’t defective.”

“That can’t be true, can it!? It lasted for like no time at all!”

“Indeed! Do you know how much effort it took us to obtain the Akitsushima Grass!?”

“Was that book possibly called Encyclopedia of Magic Potions?”

“That’s correct.”

There are several hundred other books related to magic potions in Ootsu Library, but maybe the shop owner here has memorized all of them?

“About that book… As a matter of fact, the book in the library is missing one page… We also have a copy of that book, but…”

The shop owner retrieved a book from his bookshelf and showed it to us.

It was the same book as the one in the library.

In short, he’s telling us that the potion isn’t defective for its effect to run out in the morning.

“No, even if we knew, we had no hand to play. Wend wouldn’t have been in time either way, right?”

Ina-chan! Do you enjoy being a rationalist at this point?

“Why would you use such a magic potion then? The raw material is extremely hard to come by and its effect is quite short. Isn’t it extremely bad in regards to cost-effectiveness?”

“Even though we went out of our way to obtain the Akitsushima Grass, we weren’t rewarded appropriately.”

It makes me wonder why we went through all that trouble in the first place. Using up my mana and willpower in the match against Agnes was quite straining too.

“The intended use for this potion is to allow women without a chest to disguise themselves.”

“A disguise? Against who?”

“The man they’re going to marry.”

Is there any point in faking your chest size for merely half a day?

“As for the usage of the medicine: First a lady of a noble family will stuff her chest during the marriage interview to make it look big. Women with big breasts are very popular on the Akitsushima Island.”

It’s not just because men like it. It’s a symbol of abundant harvest, good hauls, good hunting, and children. It appears to be a lucky charm of sorts.

“It’s said that women with big breasts will allow the family they marry into to become rich and prosperous. It’s not rare for such women to marry into a family of much higher status and a low-ranking family will use a big amount of money to prepare a breast enlargement medicine for that sake. The potion will be used during the bridal night.”

In other words, a magic potion which permanently increases the size of your chest hasn’t been developed yet. The current one has limited efficiency, so the women will fake their breast size with padding during the marriage interview and wedding ceremony, and use the potion during the first night, huh?

“Isn’t that…a scam?”

“But, once a man and woman have entered such a relationship, it’ll be frowned upon harshly, if the man discards the wife he just married the other day, won’t it? In the end, the majority of couples continue to be married.”

Just like Ina-chan says, I also feel like it’s a scam, but…

“However, nowadays the number of people using that medicine has greatly decreased. It’s because the men have started to be very wary. As a matter of fact, I have also received such an order for the first time in several years. The Akitsushima Grass is a rare find and because it’s usually used for other, valuable magic potions…”

The shop owner’s eyes were directed at Ina-chan’s and my chests after we had used the precious Akitsushima Grass for something so silly. If the other employees had heard this conversation…I guess that’s the reason why he brought us to this room.

The shop owner is a kind man, isn’t he…?

“With that said…umm…it’s not a defective product.”

Ina-chan and I ran across Agnes’s group. The three are probably on their way back from their morning practice.

There’s no way we wouldn’t tell them about it. Ina-chan explained the situation to the three in a whisper.

“Such things tend to happen with magic potions, don’t they…?”

Ina and Agnes both sighed. We’re often warned about shady magic potions by Elise. According to Wend it’s human nature that some people will always buy such stuff, no matter how fishy the effect of the potion might sound.

Agnes and the other two also jumped at the idea of a breast enlargement medicine right away.

I suppose that’s how humans are.

“Previously, Cindy-chan had used a magic potion to grow taller…”

“Ahhhhh! Betty, don’t talk about that!”

A potion to grow taller…I too bought one of those in the past, didn’t I…? It didn’t have any effect at all, though.

“Cindy, you’ll grow bigger eventually.”

“Betty, Ina-sama, and I are normal.”

“One shouldn’t ask for too much anyway.”

“Yep, you’re totally right there. I still have some hopes for the future!”

It somehow sounds like she managed to come to terms with it, but does that mean I’ve lost all hope now that I’m an adult who has given birth to a child?

Wait, don’t leave me behind! I’m still not 20 years old, so my chest might become big if I get pregnant with a second child! Or maybe the production method and materials for a potion that will increase your chest size exists on some unknown island or continent.
