Tale of the Mismarca Kingdom – Chapter 1: Mismarca’s Crown Prince – Part 1

Heyas folks,

with me having ended the translation of Bookworm after it got licensed by J-Novel Club, I wanted to translate something new instead of it.

I chose Mismarca relatively quickly since it’s one of those novels I read first when I started reading Manga/LN back before I even started learning Japanese and translating novels myself. I liked the story very much and was devastated back then when any kind of translation had come to an end.

The novel itself is already a bit older (just as I’m lol) and has finished at 12 Volumes + 1 Extra. It’s a work of Hayashi Tomoaki and also part of a bigger universe (though rather disconnected from it for the most part). Yoraikun has translated Battlefield: Masurawo and is translating O-Ri-Ga-Mi, both part of the same universe. So don’t be shy and check it out here: https://yoraikun.wordpress.com/

As the chapters are fairly long, I will split them in parts as I do with all my series that have long chapters. Release day will be Thursday, on a weekly base. I know there are some translations of the first odd chapters out there, but I will start from scratch. I hope you will enjoy the journey as readers. 🙂

Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou! – Volume 10 – Chapter 1: Attracting People as we start moving southwards – Part 2

This second part mostly covers the content of chapter 95 of the WN, so you can probably skim through it. There are only few changes.

However I must say the pacing is much better with the Light Novel. It actually makes me enjoy translating the series again. Chapter 2 majorly diverts from the WN, so you should definitely read from there, if you skip around after I switched to the Light Novel version.

Well, all good things come to an end. Sadly this applies to this fan translation of Ascendance of a Bookworm as well. It was a short journey, but well, that’s how life goes.

Let me use this opportunity to advertise the follow-up project for Ascendance of a Bookworm that will start from next week on:

I will translate Tale of Mismarca Kingdom. It’s a fairly old series that has finished at 12 Volumes + 1 Extra Volume. You can already check the Table of Contents here. There exists a manga of it and the first 2 or 3 chapters of volume 1 have already been translated elsewhere a few years back, but I will start from the scratch.

Give it a chance and check it out!

Heyas folks,

as announced in the previous week’s release post, I’m starting over with the beginning of volume 10 of the Light Novel for Hachinan tte, sore wa nai deshou!

The volume starts with the liberation army moving southwards after the battle in the Great Sorbid Wastelands, aka chapter 95 in the Web Novel. For this and the coming chapters, I will add a note a beginning to explain the major differences between the Light Novel story and the Web Novel story and the new characters that have been introduced in the Light Novel. Please do understand that I can’t address each and every little detail. I will only stick to the major points that matter to the plot.

Well, you will see that the differences aren’t all that big.

This chapter will be split into two parts (normally it would have been 4 parts) so as to catch up with the part where I stopped the WN as soon as possible.
